Hello everyone, (Cliff Notes at bottom of Post)
A little bit about the car...
Its an 88, duh.
Tan interior, black on the outside.
The car has 90,xxx on the clock right now, i think around 90,067 or so. Having a DD really kept the miles down this past year. The suspension was replaced getting rid of the SLS system and putting in Bilstein shocks with H&R springs. The only other modifications are a DINAN chip, and a B&B exhaust system with an M6 race header. Other than that it is stock.
Visually the car looks great! I wash the car every time it gets dirty, ALWAYS. And monthly it gets a coat of Zymol Black wax. The paint looks deeper and shines better than our 2005 black explorer. Of course with any good, here are the cons to the exterior of the car...
The air dam of course has rock chips on it, and a small crack, but otherwise in good condition. As i stated above, i take great care as to where i park it as did the previous owners of the car. This being said, there are no dents on the car what so ever, but there are tiny, i mean microscopic imperfections when you look down the side of the car in the right lighting. On one of the doors, there is a little bit of orange peel, only visible from about a foot away. On that door, and one other, there is about a quarter sized rust spot on the inside bottom corner of the doors. In addition, there is a little rust bubble coming underneath one molding on that same door. Onto the trunk, something must have spilled on it a long time ago, but when you look closly in the right light, or wrong light i should say, you can see that a minor discoloration, or more even an outline of some sort. As for exterior cosmetics that really all i can think of at the moment.
Onto the interior of the car. I had taken every precaution to try to stop cracking on the dash, but it seems inevitable. So, it does have some cracks on the dash. The steering wheels had been covered since, well, forever, and is like a brand new wheel underneath. The carpet and mats are all in nice condition with no real stains or major discoloration. The door panels and all the beige trim are cleaned and conditioned regularly to keep them looking fresh. Oh, the seats, well seat. The driver seat had some where on the bolster when i got it, and one day it opened up a little bit and ripped. So, i plan i getting the fronts recovered although the passenger side is mint, i want them to match, but in the mean time they are coming out of the car and a set of recaros are going in, to make sure no damage is done to the supportiveness of the stock seats. The back seats are also in very good condition. The shift knob is worn a little bit, doesn't bother me, feels broken in. From an interior perspective thats about it, the windows are tinted a nice amount, still retaining visibility at night. Oh, and the rear view mirror has the map lights on it, dont know if they all do but a pretty cool feature. Oh, and one last thing, the heated seats work great, i live in FL and i use them for my back..
Only thing left is the Engine, tranny, driving part of the car...
As i said, the car has 90,XXX miles on it and to be honest does not really show at all. When you start the car up, which seems effortless, the car just begs to be started so it can be driven, a nice burble comes from the exhaust. I always give it a couple of minutes to warm up, so i never push the syncros when there cold. The transmission shifts smooth as butter, but still retains that short stiff throw... kind of hard to explain. No clunks in the tranny, or anywhere for that matter, no blowing smoke, no check engine lights, Mechanically this car is sound as can be. It handles great, looks great, and it has this thing about it that just makes you want to drive it for hours on end every single day. Not to mention all the compliments from people at stop lights and in parking lots, that are amazed that an 88 looks so damn good.
I am looking for somewhere around the 13,000 mark. I feel that price is fair, considering the car that has been taken such well care of and is in great shape to drive cross country, or to a local car show. which leads me to say that it won First place at a local car show in the European class...my competitors were new c-classes with whees and a couple E36 M3's ect. But back on topic, of course there is room for negotiation. This car is a collector car, and will only rise in value, as time goes by, so think of it as one of the most fun investments you can purchase.

Cliff Notes
90,XXX miles
Black On Tan
Exterior
Paint shines amazingly, wash and waxed regularly, minor rust on inside of door. Blemish on trunk, rock chips on front spoiler. None of which are visible from anything more than 5 feet away.
Interior
Carpet and all panels look great.
Some cracks on dash, driver seat ripped on bolster. Brand new steering wheel. Back seats are mint. Seat heaters work great.
Mechanics
Car runs like brand new, perfect idle, revs fast and healthy, not cut outs, no smoke, leaks, ect. Same goes for the tranny, shifts smooth and retains the stiff short throw that a sports car should. No leaks or grinding, slipping, NOTHING!
Car is in Fantastic shape and has been taken car of by a BMW CCA Member and has lives with an E36 M3, an E24 M635, a cooper S... you get the point, we loves cars (BMW'S) and tak car of them as if they were our kids.
In the picture of the steering wheel, it is not ripped, that is the cover that is ripped.
Thanks for looking, Hope to speak to you soon,
Mike
