from what i understand 07/90 production date mean its a '90. 09/90 would be the start of a '91. thats the way i have alway understood it. I don't know my bmw cabrios that well, i could be wrong

Correct but Titles and MY years have been changing the past few years. It comes down to what the title says.
Buyer should have no reason to lie. Most say it's not due to Diving Board assumption.
