WTT: R6, possibly plus cash for E30...

I have an extensively modded '04 R6, suspension set-up by past AMA champ. Numerous power mods, gearing change, yada yada, if anyone is interested I can get the entire list of mods.

Fairings a bit scratched up from a wreck at the track but all the damage has been fixed and the bike still has warranty until August 2009.

    Let me know.

    - 107 RWHP

Galfer Braided lines with EBC HH pads up front
Ohlins steering damper with Harris Perfrmance mount
renthal front sprocket with Precision Products rear +2 over stock, with an EK ZST 520 chain
speedohealer to account for gearing change
    Woodcraft clip-ons
    Gregg's flushmount turn signals
    CA taillight integrator
    VFX pivot kit fender eliminator
    Yamaha seat cowl
About 7k miles on front fork rebuild.
about 200 street miles and 1 trackday on freshened rear shock
Metzeler M3's with about 70% of their life left and the 120/70 up front with the fork height changed to account for it.

Hahaha I know. That's at Hallet in the bus stop, I hate that turn!

Never done a compression test on it. Bike runs and rides perfect. That's the advantage of using a dealership who also races in the CMRA and AMA.

Yeah if you weren't so far north and didn't have to deal with ice and snow, I'd tell you to man up!

I used to ride my bike to work year round........well until it was below about 15 degrees in the morning!

Haha, I'll ride mine until it's around 45, then I give up. I don't own any leather besides a full suit, everything else is textile, so I don't have much in the way of wind-blockage. Just hunker down behind the fairings and settle in for the ride. At least my legs stay warm. :)

My pop just picked up a brand new Goldwing with the nav package, and holy shit, you can ride that thing in 10 below and stay toasty. Damn giant fairings, haha.

I have a 1987 325e body with a 1990 325i motor. Body has post facelift valance and bumper tuck. Car is in very good mechanical condition, new belts, new iginition system, etc.. 160k. It was a project car in the beginning but is now almost complete (to what i want it to be)...Ill have pics up tomorrow if you want with an extensive list of what has been done. But i sold my bike about a year ago and feel helpless without one haha. I live in PA but if you wanted I'd be willing to drive out half way maybe more if you were willing the same. Let me know.

well heres some photos i snapped today...

car has 160,xxx miles on it. The tach is from the previous car the engine was pulled from. It was my 1990 325i AUTO. Engine has very little wear for its mileage, but for these cars the miles are low anyway. Pulled from the auto in august of 07. Put into the lapisblau body of a 1987 325e. The cooler thing you see below the valance is a oil cooler from the 1990 325i. Just did a complete tune up to prep it for winter cold but its not cold at all here...its like 60 in PA in january! crazy. anyway heres a list of whats been done.

                    Mark D' Sylva Chip

List of stuff replaced when engine was swapped

                    Clutch disk
                    Pressure plate
                    Throw out bearing
                    Pilot bearing
                    Front sway bar
                    Engine Mounts

                    Problems:
Im missing one foglight delete panel as you can see in the pictures, theyre 11 bucks at the stealership.

                    Shift knob is worn.

Few cracks in dash. Nothing you wouldnt see on any of these cars though.

Small dent about the size of my pinky finger. You can see it in pics on passenger door. I can pull it out, just never got around to it.

I know ive replaced a butt load of stuff on this car since i got it, just cant remember everything right now. Ill go through all my reciepts when I get home.

Pics. Cars a little dirty as you can see from the water marks and all. Paint is 8/10 id say...9 being damn near perfect, 10 being perfect.

Post some more pics up of the bike so i know exactly what im dealing with. Then we'll see if we can work out some sort of deal if it looks good for both of us. Thanks man.

Nice little ride you've got there! How hard would it be to change the cracked dash? Cracked dash and that its not an 88-91 are the only knocks against it.

If you were going to sell outright, what do you think the car is worth.

It may be a few days to get some pics of the bike, as it is two hours away in a friends garage.

If i were to sell it outright id be asking for about 4k...id be flexible on that but not really that much..Swapping out the dash isnt hard at all. If anything its easy, its just tedious. Remove everything, then put it all back.

And yea some people would say that it not being an 89-91 is a knoc against it but then again you have people like Jordan and all who like the early models because of the bigger rear arches. You can stuff wider wheels back there with more rubber.

What do you think though anyway? Depending on the condition of the bike id be willing to drive the car out to ya and drive the bike back if you threw in a few bills for gas and travel...

I like the idea. I read through list of everything done again and it would appear as though basically everything that needs to be taken care of has.

CAB's, and other bushings? Whats the condition of them? Stock shifter all nasty sloppy? lol

Do you have any gear? Whats your jacket/pant/shoe size as I have a Joe Rocket leather (sz 42 or 44), JR leather pants (size 36, the hip pads make them tight, they also zip to the jacket for the track), Size 44 Sidi Vertigo boots (equates to roughly a size 9) and also an older HJC helmet and an AGV TiTech Rossi Rep. New that's about $1300 in gear. All of this gear would be in lieu of gas money!

I'd say the bike as it sits is worth around $3800 as well, book is about $5k and it would cost $1k to get the bike visually perfect, throw in the mods and the constant maintenance that has always been done and I feel this would be a good trade.

I'll get you pics as soon as I can get by his house.

CAB's were replaced back in august when I did the motor swap. I had to swap out the steering rack as well since the rack that was previously in the car was in no where near condition of the replaced rack I had in my "I" car. So the rack has about 30k on it. The tie rods were replaced as well in august. Subframe was replaced with a better condition subframe when the swap was done. Shifter has some play in it but i would just take care of that anyway before I came out.

As far as gear im only size 38 jacket, 11 shoe, and 32 pants.. Haha im 6 foot, 160..skinny guy I guess.

The rossi rep I would take. I already have a set of leathers sry bud. How hard do you think it would be for you to meet me halfway? Its about 20 hours to go straight there and another 20 back. If ya could meet me half way, we'll forget about any cash. Let me know how this sounds, only seems fair and id be the only one making the whole trip there and back. 40 hours is alot hah.

But yea, I feel as though this is a pretty solid trade as well. Ive been teasing the idea of trading the e30 for another toy but nothing has come up that really sparked my interest. Whenever you can get the pics is cool. Thanks man

I'll work on getting you some pics. Where would be a good halfway point? Whoooo thats a long ride in this cold!

Are you in a big hurry to make this happen or anything? I just need to know how much urgency there is? My bike isn't out on the market or anything like that, but I dont' have time for it and want a fun car.

Seems about the only thing I would have to do to yours is add a short throw shifter and some different wheels!
