WTB: SOmething... German... and RWD. $4000

I'm looking for a new daily driver, it's got to be under or around $4000 (I guess a little over wouldn't kill me). I'm open to almost anything E30, E36, E28, E34, E32, E24, as well as Mercedes W126 or W124. I'm not in a big hurry to buy just yet but I DO have cash on hand. I'd be willing to travel to California, PNW, or as far east as Ohio-ish... What's out there?
