CAR IS SOLD! Thanks R3V!
Purchased the car August last year with 148K on it. Now has 155k on it. First thing I did was detail it. It cleaned up really well. It shines and is presentable. It does have some scratches, chips, and dings but nothing major. No rust on this car. The interior is pretty clean. One minor tear in dash pad, and the trim around the radio has a crack. Minor wear on the drivers seat. The headliner, carpet, seats, and door cards are all clean. No funny smells, no leaks. Sunroof operates fine. Everything works, all windows operate, AC blows cold, heat works fine, cruise control works. So far as I can tell it has spent most of its life around NOVA/DC/MD but I have never run a carfax on it.
Engine runs great, trans shifts smoothly. Clutch feels good. The car had a K&N filter installed on it upon purchase. It also seems the steering rack and catback exhaust were replaced prior to my possession. I have gone through the entire vehicle replacing almost everything that was worn. Here is what has been done:
- New front windshield
- New control arms with new balljoints
- New control arm bushings, offset urethane units
- New steering shaft joint
- New shift linkage (all bushings and clips)
- New flex coupler (guibo) in driveshaft
- New Trans output shaft seal
- New timing belt/tensioner/waterpump (within last 2000 miles)
- New camshaft seal and cam cover o-ring
- New spark plugs, adjusted valvetrain, new valvecover gasket (done with above)
- All fluids changed
- New alternator
- Used ZF power steering pump (converted from Vickers pump)
- New power steering hoses
- New Borbet wheels (+40 with 15mm H&R spacers, correct 57.1 HB) with New Toyo Proxes 4 tires (about 3,000 miles on them)
What the car needs:
- Struts feel soft. Time to replace them
- Front fogs don't work, one is cracked
- Airbag SAS light flashing (I didn't care about it as I intended to swap to a non airbag wheel)
I personally think this car is a great daily driver. It would also be a good starting point for someone looking to turn it into a street/track car, which is the direction I was going to head with it. I drove the car last month on an 800 mile road trip and had no issues and obtained 24 MPG cruising at 72-74MPH.
My bottom dollar price on this car is $3300, I won't go lower. Save your lowballing for Ebay please.
