As much as I hate to do this, I think it's best for the car.
I have a '79 320i just sitting in my apartment parking lot. I bought it from a coworker who was going to scrap it. It has a little over 96,000 miles, and is really in great condition. It's a little dirty from sitting outside for the last few months, but with a good polish, it will look awesome. The interior is super nice. The carpet is perfect, I think the front seats are 8/10, but the cloth back seat is torn. I don't believe the dash is cracked. I was really looking forward to detailing it, but I don't think I'll ever get to.
The car is not currently running. It was running really, really rough when I bought it, and since its been sitting, the battery has died. I haven't done any maintenance or repairs on the car since I bought it because I don't have any tools at my apartment. Er...actually, I replaced the spark plug wires (one was cracked), but they're the wrong part and will need to be replaced again. The previous owner replaced most of the ignition system parts (plugs, cap, rotor), from what I understand. I think he did other maintenance as well, but getting info out of him is like pulling teeth.
The car doesn't really have any rust, as far as I can tell. The only body damage is on the roof. The (idiot) PO forgot he had his bike on the roof rack and pulled into his garage. I swear I could strangle him for denting such a straight car. The dent isn't terrible, but it did crack the paint.
The previous owner also took out the center console for whatever reason. It's all in the trunk, but one piece is broken. I kept meaning to find another at a junk yard, but I never remembered. There's no stereo...I don't know why.
Hmm...that's about all I know. It's automatic. I'll accept any reasonable offer. I will NOT sell it to anyone who plans to part it out, and I'll make you sign something swearing on your life and your dog's life that you will fix the car up. Seriously.
I'm asking $1000 OBO. I will help arrange shipping if anyone from out of state is interested. If anyone has a car cover for an E21, I'll buy it from you and keep the car.
