    1988 M3 E30 Henna 78K miles for $18Kobo

sad to write this but i will have to sell my E30 M3
when i bought it, it was my 3rd car so i never needed to depend on it

my second cars lease is almost over
and in july my company is moving offices and i will need a newer car that is 4 wheel drive.

Which means someone else will get to enjoy my baby
i bought it in june 26th 2007 from the second owner
it was a PA car it's whole life

since then i have changed the sealed beam headlights to US ellipsoids (not smileys)
    16" E32 wheels with new 225/45 16" tires
installed a new catalytic converter and new OEM muffler (passed VA emissions easily)
    replaced oil/fuel/air filter
replaced brake/engine/power steering/differential oils (transmission next)
replaced coolant (thermostat being replaced next weekend)
replaced faulty sensors (oil pressure and water temp)
replaced front rotors and have rear to be installed with rear bearings
    new spark plugs
    new rotor/distributor
    fixed oil leak (yaay!)
    M Tech II steering wheel
    E36 M3 illuminated gear knob
    replaced all exterior bulbs
replaced all dash lights with LEDS (except alternator light) looks like a new car
    new battery
redyed the interior, looks brand new. i would give it 9/10 cuz of the driver seat (needs another coat of black dye), no tears. just looks more used than passenger
replaced/installed all interior plastic bits (the ones that cover the seat mounting bolts, the trim under the steering wheel etc)
replaced seat shocks for passenger, driver is ok
    cleaned fuel injectors
    adjusted throttle butterflies
compression test done last year, i think it was 195, 190, 190, 185
    replaced OBC bulbs with LEDS
    SI board ok
i have 2 new wiper grilles( the ones below the windshield) (no rust there thank god)
car has 15% tinted windows, i was very against them when i bought it. but they don't look too bad. they give it a meaner look

    what needs to be done:
rear wheel bearings (have them, will probably do it in may, along with installing rear rotors)
i would like to change all rubber bushings (but it rides very well) (car has H&R springs with OEM shocks, lowered but not too uncomfortable)
    change belts
    adjust valves
either engine or transmission mounts need to be changed, buzzines in gearknob around 3k rpm (bought 6 series mounts, will install them next weekend, motor mounts are ok)

    now the bad news

i hit a deer once (god damn bambi) so there is a little damage to the front left fender and hood
broke the left grille but already have replacement left and right
missing 10/12 metric wrench from toolkit
car comes with a full gasket set (valve cover, head gasket, etc) came with car.
no OEM stereo, i have a Sony in there now. speakers are all OEM and all work fine

i think that about summarizes it up

1st post selling a car eh? Hmm... 88's came with ellipsoids, don't really see that as work you did.

Have an estimate for all the damage the deer caused?

    -edit-

Forgot about the Henna m3 oddity and the 87's sold as 88's. Fair enough.

88 M3s did not come with ellipsoids
No Henna M3 ever came with Ellipsoids from the factory
      http://www.s14.net/forums/showthread...enna+ellipsoid
      elllipsoids were inroduced in 9/87
my car was built 6/87 as an 88 model

did not get a quote for damage
but i know if i did not have the deer damage, which is not too bad
my car would easily sell for over 20K
there were only 200 Henna imported into the states
it was only first half of model year 88 and they switched to cinnabar red
out of those 200 are some that were crashed, dismantled for parts, or converted into race cars.

yes first post is a for sale
i didn't know about this forum
      i was/am a member in s14.net
and someone there suggested i post here when i put my car up for sale

If someone from r3v buys it, that m3 will get more love than a compareable priced woman.

yeah.....That car was repainted. The car that I posted is a henna car. It only had a little of orange in it. some lights it looks red, some it looks orange. the car that I posted is a henna car. here is another. I had an 88 that did not have elipsoids in them and I had an 89 that did. I am not positive on weather it was an option or not but mine did not have them. I dont remember the production date of the 88 either. That could say alot right there just to know when it was built.

His car is Henna certainly. In direct light pictures henna is VERY orange, in low light it is much more red. This also depends heavily on camera. Henna is a very odd color to picture.

                              car was not repainted
keep in mind this paint is 20 years old
and yes in different lightning conditions it does look reddish sometimes
and in strong sunlight it seems orangish

also keep in mind what was the case for the E30 is not the same as the M3
M3 was were built on the earlier body style
and at one point the E30 had the revised rear lights when the M3 always had the earlier version
and no Henna M3 ever came with elliposides
read the link i had added earlier from S14.net
