FS in San Diego: 1988 325iX

THE CAR IS NOW ON EBAY. BID HERE:

    The stats:

    1988 325iX
    160,000 miles
    Alpine white/tan interior

Partial list of things I've done since I bought her:

    Lower valance trim
    Trunk emblem/grommets
    Hood emblem/grommets
    Hood shock
    Wheel cap emblems
    Shift knob
    Shift boot
Skid plate (not installed, don't think it's the right part)
    Taillight gaskets
    Inner fender liner (right)
    Brake duct (right)
Front license plate holder (for diving boards, no longer installed)
    Onboard computer light
Euro bumper trim (front and rear)
    Euro grills
New clips for window and door trim
    iS lip and clips
    Foglight lenses
Rear trim for trunk and clips
    Transmission shift shaft seal
    Transmission output shaft seal
    Backup switch
    Front differential output shaft seals
    Front differential pan gasket
Front inner and outer CV boots
    Shift linkage parts (misc.)
    Intake boot
    Air funnel (to airbox)
    Battery OEM
    Exhaust donut
    Intake manifold gaskets
    Oil breather o-rings
Fuel pressure regulator and vacuum line
    Coolant hose from reservior
    Crankcase vent hose
    Throttle body plate, gasket, screws
    Thermostat housing and bolts
    Thermostat
    AC receiver dryer
    AC suction line
    Front swaybar endlinks
    Bolts for control arm bushings
    Rear shock mounts
    Refinished factory basketweaves
Replaced timing belt and water pump

The following parts have been repainted:

Front and rear bumpers (painted when they were installed, car came with diving boards
    from factory)
    Side view mirrors
    Front valance
    New iS lip
    Rear spoiler

    What's left:

    Interior reupholstery
    Stereo (not currently installed)
Replacement of all fuel lines, including hard lines
Rear shock mounts (purchased, but not installed)

The car would also come with a spare transmission.

There is more, I just can't remember it all. The car has a stack of service records at least 2 inches thick. Ben and I bought it from the 2nd owner who had the car for 12 years and took great care of it. The AC works, it passed smog a few months back with flying colors, the paint is shiny, but has a few dings and chips. I've spent countless hours slaving away over this thing. I'm proud of what I've done with it, it's really a fantastic car that drives very well, but I bought a house and don't really need two cars...

Anyway, I want $7,000 OBO. If you think I'm absolutely nuts, but had no intention of buying the car in the first place, I don't care. If you think I'm absolutely nuts, but might be interested, PM me and we can negotiate. With that said, here are the pictures:

And a huge album with tons of pictures documenting her progress in no particular order:

Keep in mind that every single part I've put on this car is OE or OEM, and has been installed by a BMW master tech. Imagine how much that would have cost if you had taken your car to the dealer, handed them the list of parts I've replaced, and had them do it! Easily $10,000. Man, if only I got paid to work on my own car.

Nice car. Its a shame that it's out of 99% of r3v users price range. It's an '88, so it has the sport interior, correct? Heated seats?

That's okay, at least you guys can help me spread the word. It does have a sport interior, which needs to be reupholstered. Like I said though, if I get my asking price, I wouldn't mind having that done for the buyer. For an $8,000 E30, I would expect the interior to be mint, so I can understand buyers feeling the same way. The seats are not heated, though I'm sure I could arrange for that.

Good looking car. It'd be nice to see a nice car actually go for what it's worth.

And thank you too. Tyrone will miss his girlfriend, but they've been arguing a lot lately. Plus I'm afraid Shaniqua might pick up some bad habits from him...like having a non-functional gas gauge or something. (I really, really almost got stranded last time I drove Ben's car to work. It was almost bad - he told me it had gas!)

Bump. If anyone is/was considering my car, make me an offer. I'm willing to work with you on price...I've found a house and would really like to sell the car.

Yes, the car is still available.

It has lived in Socal most of its life. If I remember correctly, it was originally purchased in Nebraska, then it lived in North Dakota or North Carolina (can't remember which) for a few years before moving to California. I can't remember exactly, I'd have to check the records.
