No....why? I've always wanted an s50/52 e30 but don't have time to do another swap, and I've been itching for something new

Still not really seeing what you are talking about.....maybe I'm just a retard. He said he is interested in swapping for a mini cooper (so he would consider a trade), needs to be more family oriented w/ his "toys" (w202 AMG is a good 4 door family saloon) and he wants around 15k for it (which is at least in the ballpark of my C43, w/ maybe some cash on my end depending on what the seller thought). Am I missing something?

[quote=sefb222;1102627]thanks folks.. im bummed to even think about it, but im 34 yrs old, have two kids and a wife, a shit ton of bills, and a ridiculous amount of toys that i really dont need. i've spent the greater portion of my adult life traveling the world, dating crazy girls, buying dumb stuff, and making pictures on people's skin for good money. i've been having an f'ing blast. not saying im done having fun, but i think it's time to reel it in a little bit, and closely consider priorities... this year, my 5 yr old son starts school, and that aint cheap... his sister is only 3 yrs behind him, and as us 30-somethings (and up) know, that's no time at all.

no joke.. the dollar is so weak right now. gas is insane, and we still have 100 years of war to pay for, so we'd better buckle down! :hitler:

PM sent as I don't like to hijack other people's FS threads.

For the record, Rui at Azevedo Motor Sports has performed swaps on mine and several friend's cars (as well as countless others) and all of us have yet to experience any driveability / reliability issues after 2+ years of hard driving & DS events.

Finally, BUMP for a VERY nice E30 swap.

hi folks.. sorry for the lapse in replies.. i've been moving the family from spain back to the states, which involved a week in baltimore, a week back to spain, and another week in baltimore... these f'ing hotels are adding up. :(

now we're in portland, and today we can finally move into our new house!

anyway, the car is still in baltimore, i dont have recent pics, but it does look WAY better than in the pics i posted previously. the interior is just about completely re-done, in black, and as i mentioned, the engine bay is now detailed and sorted to look as if it came from the factory with an S52.

it's still for sale, BUT, if i end up having to have it shipped to portland, i will just keep it. if it sells on the east coast, or if a buyer wants to dive it, ship it elsewhere, it's fine w me... i just dont want to put another 1200 bucks into it, just to sell it. a twinscrew supercharger is calling my name!

for laughs... a bit more on the MSR saga..

i insisted that bill weisman order the e21 booster from zionsville, but in his typical lazy as shit, get nothing done on time behavior, he tried to use a booster from an early 7 series, because it was what he had in one of his shit heaps... it was smashed against the intake manifold, and not only created an air leak because the manifold couldnt seat properly, thus causing the engine to sputter and run like shit, but it cause the booster to sit crooked... this created a disaster-prone scenario, where i was constantly losing brake fluid, and therefore brake pressure..

there were also leaks at all four corners, where the lines ran into the calipers. i ended up having to replace all of the hoses, with ones from UUC, because dickweed stripped the ones i originally sent him. the entire brake system was leaking, and i DROVE the fucking car from NJ to baltimore without knowing this!!!

i guess i should have known better.. as i was pulling out of MSR, on the maiden voyage.. i hear an increasingly loud and more frequent thumping.. bang bang bang bang... WTF????

i roll the car back around, and we get it on the lift... the jackass FORGOT to tighten the bolts that go through the guibo... the driveshaft was flopping around... ADDITIONALLY, i was told that he'd sent the driveshaft out to be balanced, and was charge a couple hundred bucks for the service...
well, it turns out, it was never balanced, and it was vibrating so much that it TORE OUT the center bearing (AND bushing!!!) in less than 400 miles.

gotta run for now.. first day in portland.. but, there's more to this story.. so much more.

i'll have to scan and post the list of repairs which were made to the tune of 8 grand.

here's pics of the MSR shop/office, for the time being, as a point of reference.

I hate grubbags. If I had a single bay shop, or any shop space of my own, I'd be running around working on e30's in a labcoat, sipping tea. I can't stand dirty shops. BTW, did I mention I hate messy shops?
