    FS: 74k 89 325is Richmond, VA

    Zinnaberrot 1989 325is VIN WBAAA2306K4259416

This car is a one owner car with 74k original miles on it. It was professionally maintained at BMW until its warranty was up, then maintained by a reputable independent shop in Washington D.C. At no point has this car been neglected or without proper maintenance. I have all the receipts from day one to prove it's history.

The suspension is solid with no shakes or shimmies at speed or while braking. The shocks are fresh.

The engine runs as it should and has all of it's power. It idles well and does not leak or burn any fluids. It runs at operating temperature even with the AC running. The timing belt has been replaced within the past few years.

The automatic transmission shifts as it should and does not leak any fluid.

The interior is in excellent condition. The back seat is near perfect, as is the passenger seat. The drivers seat has some cracking on the bolster but is in good condition otherwise. The manual seats operate as they should. The dash is crack free and was always shaded from the sun. The carpeting is in good condition with no big stains or fading.

The paint is in excellent condition with no door dings or dents. The only damage to the paint are small scratches or blemishes. There is no evidence of body damage or rust. The cars records indicate there was paint work done to the passenger side of the car, which I confirmed with a paint meter. The paint used was of good quality and is difficult to distinguish from the OEM paint. There is a white scratch on the front bumper passenger side.

The wheels are in excellent condition, only one has minor curb rash. The tires are Sumitomo Srixon4's and they have plenty of useful life left. There are 2 emblems missing in the pictures, I have replaced them with new.

The systems in the car all work properly including the windows, sunroof, OBC, HVAC, central locking system, wipers, spray, lighting and mirrors. The AC blows cold and uses R-12 refrigerant.

Since the car is a 325is, it has the Recaro style sport seats, the three spoke Motorsports wheel, shadowlined window trim and lockstrips, sport suspension, front air dam with brake cooling ducts and deck lid spoiler. In addition to these things, the car has 14 inch basketweave wheels, body color mirrors, ellipsoid style headlights and world bumpers, a nice alternative to BMW's "diving board" style bumpers from the 70's and 80's.

The car is located in Richmond, VA at my shop near the international airport. Test drives are welcome and encouraged.

    Asking $9,400 obo.

Note, I have all the parts to make the car a five speed. For an additional $600, I will do this. I felt it fair to offer the car as an automatic first, in case someone was specifically looking for one in this price range.

91 318is's are the only ones to come with shadowlined window trim from the factory.

Other than that, it looks to be in fantastic shape. Good luck with the sale.

Truth. And it doesn't even appear to have shadowline trim.

Being a 74k mile automatic car though, that motor has had arguably one of the easiest lives of any M20 currently in existence.

Haha, I know, I threw this by you all to make sure I have my shit straight.

Do you all mean to say that the black trim around the rear windows is not unique to the 325is? Thanks!

Its not the rear windows its the whole chrome trim you have on your driver and passenger side, if they are blacked out then it is shadowlined. Your are chrome so they arent. It is still stock.

nope, every e30 has that. its the chrome around that which is replaced by black trim for it to be "shadowline", which as mentioned earlier, was only available on the 318is from the factory.

In my ad, I was trying to tell the buyer that my car has shadowlined windows and lockstrips, which I consider to be an upgrade, or something other e30's did not have.

So did the 318is have a complete shadowline including the driprails and door chrome?

Yes the 318is had every bit of chrome around the windows blacked out including the driprails.

My '89 also has the pieces around the windows black while the drip rail is chrome. I am not sure what year they switched to black around the windows on E30s

                      edit:

Nice car btw wish I could talk the lady into needing it has her DD.

The diving board bumpered cars had chrome front and rear window trim and lockstrips, but were changed to all black around '88 to '89 on all E30's.

Yes the 318iS had the complete shadowline treatment from the factory. In the US, it and the M3 were the only E30's to get factory shadowline.

That's a pretty hot looking M5, do you have any pictures of the M3? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger and restoring one of those.

Why thank you, sir. I do have a few pics of the M3-let me post a couple:
                            One with stock wheels

One with ASA AR2 wheels-these didn't stay around for long...tired of them quickly

And one with the current new, old stock 16x7.5" Ronal ACT-LS wheels I luckily came across

And how about a pic of the '90 M3 I used to own and should have NEVER sold
