I sunk a lot of money into this car, thinking I would never sell it, or if I did I would get most of my money back. I realize now how wrong I was.
I paid $8500 for this BMW in June of 2002 and have easily put $20,000 into the car over this time period. I drove it as my weekend car. I primarily drove it to Olive Garden and grocery shopping, once a week, with rare exception. I put just under 20, 000 miles on it in 6 years.
I went through my file of repair receipts for this car. I listed the repairs below. This isn't including smaller costs. I’ll give you the file with the car.
*I had the front-end rebuilt.
*New head-liner
*New rear struts
*New head gasket
*New heater core (had all new dash light-bulbs put in while the dash was out)
*New heater hoses
*New front brakes (Pads and rotors)
*Replaced arm-rest for drivers seat
*Repaired drivers seat adjusting mechanism
*New tail-lamp assembly
*New Starter
*New battery
*New Oxygen sensors
*New brake master cylinder
*New $8000 paint job.
*New sunroof wind deflector and new BMW emblems
*New muffler (I replaced it because it didn't look new enough for the paint job. This cost $800 for parts and labor)
I know that I paid top dollar for the paint job, which was probably too much, but at least it’s a top notch paint job. They removed imperfections that I didn’t know were there. As mentioned, they also put new emblems and sunroof deflector, every little nick & scratch in the bumpers were removed and they were restored to new. You get what you pay for. When they replaced the 750IL Emblem on the trunk-lid, they didn't put back the IL. This was God's way of saying that the care wasn't ill anymore. I like it much better without the IL. I had it painted the original BMW green but with the heavy metal-flake variance. It will be easy to match if need be.
It has all the options, power everything (including power rear seats), leather everything, V12 engine. It gets about 14 miles to the gallon according to the on board computer; it’s not a commute car. However, it is a beautiful car and it runs perfect. Take good care of it because when I get back on my feet again financially I will buy it back for more than what you paid for it.
Mileage is 146,913

I will refuse to go any less than $4000, I’m loosing my shirt on this one. I had no idea that it would only blue-book for $4000 or I would never have painted it…Live and learn.
(If I would have given the car away before I painted it, I would be $4000 ahead)
