    WTT: 89 325iX in PNW for your E30 318iS/E36 318ti

    '89 325iX, 2-door, 5-speed, 169K miles
Alpine white with tan leatherette (vinyl) interior

Fourth owner, all in the Pacific Northwest
Rust-free!!, all original body panels with VIN stickers and original paint, no evidence of ever being in an accident
    Sunroof (manual), heated seats

Beautiful interior (4-inch vinyl surface split in driver seat bottom bolster, 1-inch tear in passenger door panel, otherwise perfect)
Very nice exterior (less than typical paint chips, a few minor parking lot variety dings, paint in great condition for age)

New in the last 20K miles: Viscous coupling in transfer case professionally replaced ($$$) -- there are many E30 iX's on the road without fully functioning all-wheel drive due to this age-related failure. Conforti chip, Eberspaecher OE muffler, Michelin X-Ice winter tires on aftermarket wheels, Bridgestone Potenza performance tires on original basketweaves, Diehard International battery, new windshield

Many thousands of dollars in maintenance records available. Runs, drives great. Sport springs (tastefully lowered) installed with original springs included. All details on request and can also take pictures based on potential trade.

Looking for either an E30 318iS or E36 318ti, 5-speed only. Must be similar condition, preferably with fewer miles for a straight across trade. Would also consider a 4-door E30 M42 318i in exceptional condition and possibly a rear-wheel drive 325i/iS in exceptional condition, again only manual transmissions (European E30's of all varieties encouraged). No projects, looking for an immediate daily driver.

    Please send email to gary74tii@yahoo.com

    Thanks,
    Gary

Without having expended too much thought and research on it, I'm thinking $6,000. That's what I paid for it almost 4 years ago with 20K fewer miles before I ended up putting at least another $4000 into it (the VC replacement as you might expect wasn't a nice surprise). One reason I'm asking specifically about trades is that I haven't followed the iX market the last couple years to know what they are going for in top condition, just more "driver" top condition rather than pristine "show car" top condition. Since I know the E30 318iS and E36 318ti interest me (for the more nimble handling characteristics trading off the extra power and all-wheel drive of course), I wanted to see if something mutually beneficial could be worked out without any money changing hands.

If I really decide to sell it outright, I might adjust that number a bit, but definitely I'm not looking to dump it as a "must sell" because it still makes a great daily driver for me and snow is around the corner in the next couple months when it will really shine.

            Gary

Since when does a car not depreciate after 4 years?

if you followed that way of thinking.... e30's would be into negative numbers by now.
