    WTB: 73 or 74 2002

Hey guys, Im currently in the market for a 73 or 74 2002. Over the past month or two Ive really become attracted to this machine and really want to pick one up in time for winter. Basically Im posting this in hopes you guys can post up any leads you may have in your areas. I live in PA and am willing to travel to bordering states and possibly up or down the east coast. Not looking for any fully restored models, as I cannot afford them, lol. Simply looking for something to get me around in on the weekends.

If you are a 2002 owner feel free to post up your experiences. Ive been doing some research and have already begun picking through the trash out there. Been on the lookout for ones without rust in problem areas like the shock towers and floor panels. Let me know if there's anything else I should watch out for. Havent decided yet what Im going to do with the E30, but I'd love to keep both. Thanks guys

I would say get a 73 or lower, the round tails really add to the classic look of the car. I would also start looking for an e21 parts car(or just these specific parts) to take the trans, brakes, and hopefully seats from.

i don't know if you have done this, or if your even interested because of you not wanting to travel fare, but check out ebay
      http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/_W0QQ_fromZR46?_nkw=1974+bmw+2002&_nd1=&_fromfsb=& _trksid=m270.l1313&_odkw=bmw+2002&_osacat=0
also check out the FL section on the 2002 faq forum
      http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewforum/f,5/sid,b4f7d104297fb295cd3ca5bb9c5e0c56/

make sure you take a look at all the rubber parts! bushing and stuff. definately look at the steering coupler! when checking it look for oil/corrosives and cracks. when i got my late 2002 my coupler broke while i was driving it back! besides that just the usual. rust, electrical, and so on.
i would also recommend getting rid of the points right off the bat (replace with crane ignition)!!! also run some see foam through it!

Wow thanks guys. Yeah I put a feeler ad 2002faq but havent heard anything yet. This is definetly something I dont want to rush into. Want to make sure I get a good deal on something and not get screwed with a rust bucket.

Ive heard people talking about the "points", excuse my ignorance but what are they talking about?
Also, how much difference in power is the standard 2002 from the ti and tii models?

oh yeah and Im a firm believer in seafoam...
