Yeah. I'm going to get another e30. I have some cash, and I don't really care what color or interior condition because well, it's going to get stripped either way. It'd be nice to find something with a fairly stock engine. Other mods I could care less about, it's probably all going to be changed anyways.

So yeah if anyone knows of anything let me know. Anything from like $1 to $3500 or so is what I'm looking to spend. I'm not making a damn show car so leads to some ridiculous e30 in mint condition for $5k are going to be ignored by me.

Trevor has a lachsilber on blue houndstooth '87 325e/2. It's no looker, but a perfect candidate for a 2.7 stroker if you can find an i head. The motor has a few leaks (valve cover, etc.) but it runs. For obvious reasons it isn't at home in the driveway, but if you're ever in the area and want to check it out, it's been at Curt's shop ever since he bought it. Mitch might be getting it, but if he doesn't I'm sure Trev would let it go for a fair price.

Yeah I don't have time to do head swaps. It'd be great if I didn't spend most of my time training.

Plus, I really just want something that I can throw some suspension on, a rollbar, and take to the track every once in a while and still be able to drive it daily. The jeep is just stupid. 31's, no doors, no top, no fender flares. Strictly a trail vehicle and it gets about 12 mpg.

We have two E30's at work (Matthews) that are for sale in the $2500-$3000 range.

1. '91 red (brilliantrot, I think) 318is. 184k iirc. When it came in the motor sounded terrible and the paint was faded. The motor had one broken timing chain guide, and the others were getting close. The tensioner was also shot. It recieved all new guides and rails plus a new tensioner. The front of the motor was 'restored', meaning I beadblasted, polished, and cleared the front timing covers and installed them with new gaskets.

The paint looks like brand new now, very shiny after a good buff. Interior isnt perfect, but isnt falling apart. I think the drivers seat had a little bit of cracking, but no tears or holes. It's tan vinyl. Dash is cracked.

2. '87 Laguna Seca (originally alpine) 325is. 5-speed with 210k iirc. The car came in with a row of bad valves and a two piece timing belt. It recieved a lower mile used head, new water pump, timing belt (duh..), and tensioner.

Also recieved a nice gray interior to replace the heat baked red interior. Drivers bolster is imperfect. Dash is crack-free. 3.73 lsd still locks up nicely. All original spoilers are in place. Has an odd dealer option set of 15" black centered BBS wheels. They have flat surfaced spokes. Runs great now, and I think it would be the ideal track car. Exterior is nice enough, but not concourse.
