Uhhhhh, I hope you are not looking for a straight up trade. You realize you are going to have to throw some serious coin in IF you can even find someone that would want a 1984 318i as a trade on a e30 M3.
Good luck with your aspirations, BUT IMHO they are way to HIGH if you think anyone will be remotely interested in doing a deal like this. -

Yes I can but why would I bother...
You do realize that a rolling rust bucket e30 m3 with NO drivetrain & possibly no interior brings in the $5000-$7500 range. And a running complete ROUGH e30 m3 will fetch starting in the 12k range. One that is somewhat nice gets in the $16k range and to get a extremely nice low mileage car they are getting in the $25k+ range.
So yes good luck wanting to trade a $1500 car for something worth at least 10 times more than your car without throwing down some serious coin as well...

Very, very complete 318i you have there, but wide-angle mirrors and valve stem caps only go so far.
I'd say that car plus $4-5k would get you a decent E30 M3 runner.
Best of luck though, nobody believed Jesus could walk on water.Last edited by TDE30; 01-18-2009, 08:05 PM.- Trey

Best of luck, there are a lot of e30 m3's that hit the market in 88. I bet with the chances that one of the owners is someone David Hannum spoke of, you should find what you are looking for.Comment

Reality is a dream killer. Hold onto your dream though and when the time comes it will make your dream that much more worth while.
Trust me dude- I bought a cheap-o e30 m3 when I was 18 that I couldn't afford. I learned my lesson the hard way. These cars aren't your typical e30... and as others will tell you- repairs will often cost more than the cost of your current 318. You've got a really clean e30. Have fun with it until you can afford your dream car. Good luck.Comment
