FS - NoVA - 1990 325ix - Help me make my dad not buy mom a hybrid

I bought this car for may dad last year for Christmas. It is a 1990 325ix 5-speed. It has around 187k on the m20. Body is good but has one or two dings. Interior is mint. The whole undercarriage is basically new. Belts and tuneup done buy the local BMW shop. New OEM suspension, control arms and exhaust.

Recently my mom has been complaining that her Toybota Avalon is too big and would like to trade it in for something smaller and more fuel efficient. My dad wants to get her a hybrid and but I would rather cut off my left nut than to see anyone of my family own the hypocriticmobiles. After a long bit of arguing with my dad we made a bet. A recent accident in another car has shot the insurance of the IX through the roof (stupid NYS insurance policies). So my dad would like to sell it. He said if I can sell the car for equal or more than I paid for it, my mom will get a TDI Jetta. If I do not, she is getting a shitty hybrid. Please do not put my mom in Hybrid Hell.

          Wish I had The Money!

I was just saying yesterday to my wife our next car needs to be an E30 ix! But right now, can't buy anything in that price range. Nice car, good luck with the sell!

This was my thought as trying to drive up a snowy gravel drive in my 1988 325is with 4.10 rear. By the way i was not going anywhere but side to side!
Had to put it in nuetral and back out to clear road.

I love my car od nice dry roads!

I would say 95% of all hybrids bought are not used the way they are intended to. They just become a statement of being green but in fact the car is not very great at all.

What way were they intended to be used? 95% of people aren't daily driving them?

I would never wish an e30 DD among anyone I loved, especially my mom. I'm assuming yours doesn't turn wrenches for a living though...

The IX was bought for my dad as a toy. He is giving it up so mom can have a new car.
