Ever since I became interested in BMW's, I dreamed of having a nice clean E34 as a daily driver; they seemed to offer the perfect mix of sportiness and luxury. I finally picked one up, and unfortunately due to some life changes it looks like I may be parting ways with it sooner than I would have hoped. :(
Here are the basics:
This car is a blast to drive and has been my daily driver since I purchased it at the end of October 2008. It is not perfect by any means and will need some love to get it into tip-top shape -- I am not trying to hide anything, I purchased the car with several issues that were not disclosed by the seller and am very nit-picky so I am listing everything that I know that needs attention.
This car is completely stock other than E32 Rear Map Lights. I really had hoped to keep this car for a while but it is just not financially wise for me right now. I'd love to see it go to someone who will appreciate it and not some local fool who will crash it.
Looking for $3750/OBO or trade for other manual transmission vehicles (E30/E28 preferred but open to others), either straight trades or +/- cash.

- 1995 BMW 540i (last year of the E34)
- Black exterior with Dove Gray Sport interior & Power/Heated/Memory front seats.
- 191,2xx miles on the chassis, 105k on the replacement Alusil block (replaced under warranty in 1999).
- Rare 6 Speed Manual Transmission - clutch and transmission shift great.
- Have most service records.
- Clean Carfax/Autocheck.
- Enthusiast owned for the last several years.
- Was a southern car until October of 2008; no rust!
- Currently have a clean NY title in hand and it is NYS Inspected until 11/2009.

- Heater Core is on it's way out (fogs up windows when vents are opened; have just kept them shut since purchase).
- Body is rust free but has a few dents; one small one on both the leading edge of the hood and trunk, and a larger one on the passenger rear quarter near the tail light (happened about 2 weeks ago, parking lot hit-and-run).
- Like many M60's this one suffers from a cold weather rough idle - still runs and drives fine, just idles rougher than usual when the ambient temperature is below 20 or so.
- Interior needs love; the driver's side outer seat bolster is very worn, both front seats suffer from binding mechanisms and lean slightly, and it needs an overall good cleaning.
- There is a rattle from the exhaust that started recently. More pronounced when the car is cold.
- Windshield Washer Reservoir has a crack near the bottom and leaks the fluid. Has just enough in it to not trip the "Low Washer Fluid" warning but not enough to actually wash the windshield.
- There is a loose wire under the center console which causes the "Parking Brake On" OBC message to remain on most of the time. Jiggling the handle usually makes it go away for a bit. May fix this if I have time.
- Radio and factory 6 Disc CD Changer work fine, however the screen on the head unit is dim. All of the information is displayed on the OBC cluster screen as well so it hasn't bugged me too much.
