    FEELER: '91 318is in GA

Here for sale is my e30. I picked up a miata a couple of weeks ago so I need to unload this one.

    Updated price: $2500

'91 318is with ~180k miles on the clock. I'm the 3rd owner, I've owned the vehicle since fall of 2007. The previous owner was a BMWCCA instructor, and a fanatical car owner. He owned the car since ~1997 I think, and the owner before him was also a very meticulous car owner. I have records on the car dating back as far as 1992 I believe, showing frequent engine oil changes, transmission and diff fluid changes, regular brake work, etc. Many things on the car have been replaced relatively recently (within the last 2-3 years, or 30k miles, much of it more recent than that), including but not limited to:

    - Rear wheel bearings
    - Brake pads on all four corners (will have to look up what kind, but they're fairly aggressive street pads.. pretty good when cold, but stop like a mofo once they're even mildly warmed up), ATE super blue brake fluid
    - Timing chain, sprockets (cam and crank), all chain guides, auto-tensioner, seals
    - Water pump, t-stat, all water hoses (except for one I think), high quality phosphate free coolant (will look up what kind)
    - Front brake calipers replaced, new brake lines
    - New brake master cylinder
    - Fuel pump replaced
    - New tires, Falken Azeni 615's on all four corners (basketweaves). Those of you who have used these, know that they are awesome handling tires
    - Ignition coils, spark plug wires, spark plugs, air filter
    - Driveline guibo

I'm probably forgetting some things on this list..

    Suspension goodies:

    - IE lowering springs (1.5" IIRC)
    - Bilstein shocks all around
    - IE sway bars front and rear
    - e30 M3 front control arms
    - Front suspension is fully equipped with blue polyurethane bushings, I don't think the rear has polyurethane bushings though

Also, regarding the drivetrain.. The engine oil has always been changed every 3k miles (sometimes 4k tops) with Mobile 1, usually 5W-30 synthetic oil. Also, the tranny and diff have both received frequent fluid changes, usually receiving either Mobile 1 or Redline fluids. The engine has a bit of crud towards the bottom of it but that's fairly normal for an engine with this mileage.. It doesn't seem to leak any oil since I changed the front seals when I did the timing chain job last fall.

Additionally, I've had the lower oil pan cover off to check for loose bolts and for things hanging around (within the past 6 months), and found nothing out of place.

I also believe the previous owner had gotten oil analysis tests done on the car semi-frequently, I'll try to pull up the results of the most recent one.

Now for the bad. This car is not in very nice shape cosmetically. The paint (diamond schwarz) is pretty badly faded, especially on the roof. There are a number of dents and dings on the body.. none are car-wreck bad but there are a couple of golf-ball size dents or slightly larger. The interior is not as bad but still not great.. there are a couple of cracks forming on the dashboard, the radio is from the early 90's and is only semi-decent.. The seats are a bit wonky in their adjustment features but for the most part the vinyl on them is in good shape. Like I said, its not bad but its not great either.

If you're looking for a solid daily driver that handles really well and is fun to drive, and don't care too much about cosmetics, this is the car for you.

UPDATE: Here are some pictures. I went to get the car washed/cleaned up a bit, but the place was already closed (I'd wash it myself, but that's a bit hard to do where I live).
