    FS/FT: 92' M-tech II Appearance

Hey guys~ I made a half hearted attempt to sell my great little cabrio before I had to use it through a MO winter but was unsuccessful for reason of a waffling buyer and then didnt feel like whoring my pretty little slab so I put it to rest. Ive had alot of interest in it since then and am officially putting it up for sale. Fortunately, this winter was pretty tame seeing only like 4 snows the cab was garaged through a couple of them. So, without further ado here we go.

I'll post alot of basic info with more to people serious at looking into it. (send me an email or PM. more than willing to talk on the phone)

    1992 BMW 325i, M-tech II "appearance" package.
99,500 orig. miles. (deposit within 2 weeks and buyer can roll the 100k mark >.>)
    factory 5 spd.
M-tech II cabrio suspension. Aftermarket cloth inserts into the sport seats.
    13 button OBC (completely functional)
    VIN: WBABB1313NEC05237
power everything altho top has been converted to manual (as is normal)
15" Hartge 10 spoke wheels. tires are meh with about 15k on them.

Lots to say about the car. please feel free to inquire.
From everything I know and from the research Ive done. This is roughly 1 or 2000 Mtech II appearance packages released. Who knows how many were manual. This is not a "true" Mtech II from the 91' model production year with the leather console/doorcards and Mtech seat material. This is a BMW factory 92' "appearance".
This car is and has always been EXTREMELY mechanically sound since my ownership in June of 2007. I bought it in Kansas City MO with ~83,000 miles. that means Ive put roughly 8k miles per year on it for the nearly 2 years Ive owned it. Id venture to guess that at least 30-40% of those miles were on I-44 at a nice steady 3k RPM and 70 MPH as I used to have a commute. :P
In November of 2008 (not knowing the prior service history) as I came out of a school parking lot my timing belt went along with 3 rockers and like 5 valves. $2100 later (plus) I had a rebuilt head, Tbelt, and all new gaskets, thermostat, hoses, ect. Since then Ive gone ahead and replaced the alternator, battery, belts (minus A/C), radiator flush, valve adjustment, and of course normal oil servicing (since Ive owned the car Mobile 1 full synthetic only). All in all, Ive got over 3k in servicing/rebuild over the last 4 months. Probably close to 4 or 4.5k in reciepts in all.
No rust, No engine leaks, top leaks slightly in intense rain or if you'd power wash (id guess, I never have). 3rd brake light leaks into the tool kit slightly (why i removed the tools, I always hand-dry after wash/rain).
Car is freaking clean and fun to play with.
Car has 4 points of slight dissapointment. 3 deal with the body including a cracked front valence, a door dent on passengers side door (roughly 1"x1.5") and a paint piercing scuff on front drivers side fender (see pics, roughly 1"x2"). the last is in the "back glass" of the vert top as it is cracked near the bottom passengers side and Ive always covered on both sides with automotive clear tape that has always masked it adequately (kinda ghetto I know). Otherwise the top is in pretty good shape and this "back glass" can be replaced. (all in pics)

please note: THIS CAR IS NOT PERFECT. but the pics just arent extroidinary either. It is VERY nice but no unicorn. It is just a great late model rare cabrio.

Cant think of too much more at the moment. I have little documentation from PO's. mostly just from my own ownership.

UPDATED ASKING PRICE: $6500. It was posted last year at 8k with interest which I think was completely reasonable. The price has been amended because of the Mileage, current economic situation, and car market. Also, Im not an idiot and know fully that no one wants to pay for my upgrades/maintenance so that does not affect the price AT ALL.. ^^

Lots of pics to be had if you're serious about the car. Im a flexible guy and will consider trades within the E30 and E36 brackets. Must be a coupe/sedan as I have recently started riding bikes and dont have any practical use for two seasonal vehicles. Would also consider trades towards a Triumph Daytona 675 or Kawasaki Z1000.
P.S. first two pics are from Aug. 08' the rest are from earlier this evening. taken on a lame 6MP digital of my friends as the other buddy with the digital SLR couldnt come thru for me tonight.
Sorry for the long post  but I think this is an adequate initial post.

    pass side door

Lastly.... the car is getting a brand new Windshield as the current one has a crack. ($200) and a new rear window switch the went out on me ($16)

Thanks guys... lemme know what you think. This is the car you will get. No surprises.
Oh and feel free to contact me 417-268-0061 (CST) pretty much any time. if i dont answer leave a voicemail Ill get back promptly. or at tacticsboy5@hotmail.com

Shouldn't have any problem getting your asking price for it.

Should serve as the example on how to write a FS ad !! Great description & pictures of a rare car - 1000 white/white M-tec cabrios were built in 92 & @15% were 5 speeds. This is a very rare car at a very good price - GL with the sale.

In heavy rain at highway speeds (happened maybe twice since Ive owned) the seals where the top and A pillar by the upper-windshield will leak. only see leaks with lots of water pressure in certain spots. but alas all tops older than 10 years of age will have leaks..

Sad but true. Mine leaks in the same place even sitting still :)

Good luck with your sale, I hope it finds a good and deserving home!

UPDATE: Took car to BMW for radio code for the radio after the recent battery replacement. Radio worked great prior to battery removal. Though after the code was aquired, radio doesnt accept it. Tried multiple times and Master Tech said... "battery is shot"... meaning I guess exactly what he said although I left in slight confusion. Radio comes on, accepts code but denies its validity and continues to read "code".

                            Price has been modified.
