Actually, yes there is a version for the M3. Same model as in the other three series. I am working on a plug-and-play hookup at the 'Check Kontrol' relay box in the trunk. Shooting for a simplified install using a tiny screwdriver and heat shrink tube to cover the connections.

I can put you n the wait list- after all the paid lights are shipped, we'll see if there's one left. PM with your name, contact / email and VIN/Year your M3 is.

Next - LED Upgrade for the rear lights? I am ordering some replacement LED bulbs for testing in the near future, looking for a 'Guinea Pig' to test in a car with the Bulb Monitor (Check Kontrol) being the big Question. R U Interested?

          Hi Andy,

Yes, please keep me posted on LED upgraded 3rd rear brake light for an e30 m3.

I have a 1989 and located in Orlando, FL.

Plug-n-play would be excellent. I'm not sure how the 3rd rear brake light attaches to rear window, I'll take a look tomorrow.

In regards to the LED bulbs for the rear lights, sure, I'm open to testing - as long as it doesn't cause any issue.

I had tried some LED reverse lights in past that worked well, but broke apart. I had an issue with LED light for the license plate that fried the holder for some reason.

I do have a spare set of holders that are euro-spec for use too, if need to be sent over for modifying. Looking for plug-n-play option without issues.

          Regards,
          Nishal

OK, will do. I expect I'll start a new topic on this LED evaluation project. It has nothing to do with the 'group buy model 38' light.

The 'Model 38' LED upgrade center brake light is a separate unit, and sticks to the glass with double stick tape. It is LED from the word go, is aim-able to direct the light beam up / down, and does not affect the stock lights (left and right). The light attaches to the 'package shelf' with a multipart assembly, basically screwed down.

I assume the connections are the same as on my 86 535i, so if you want to REMOVE your stock light and replace it with the Hella 38, I will wire accordingly. If you just want a brighter center brake, I can provide a high output tungsten filament bulb or an LED, either of these installs normally and quickly.

These new LED bulbs will be thoroughly tested here before getting my approval, I assure you. They will NOT be sold if they cause issues, break and fall apart, or damage any part of the light assembly. The VERY LAST THING I want is to have to replace an M3 light because something I sold has failed and taken parts of the light with it. Bad for me, very bad for you.

The spare set of holders you have - you mean the back side of the lights, the 'bulb carrier' correct? Is the car an Euro version wired for rear fog lights?

We should take this off line, send me an email and we can get into the nitty gritty of your particular setup and possible options for upgrading for more light.

LIGHTS ARE HERE, WIRING AND SHIPPING ARE MY LIFE NOW.
I am working on the instructions and correct terminals for E30 lights, should be resolved very soon.

Look for an email with a final payment amount due, and let me know if your shipping address on the attached invoice is correct.

              Thanks!

Yes, I do have some leftovers. I will put you on the list, as soon as I hear from those above you, it's yours.

ATTN: those of you who are ON the wait list - get in touch soon, I'll wait until Oct 20, and then I will skip to the next name. IF you still want one after that, get in touch by email directly, not through the forum (I don't always get notified of a message or post).

Provide your name and shipping address, the car it will go into, model, year and VIN of that car, and if you want it wired for plug and play install. I MUST have your email address, and will send payment info and options as soon as I hear from you with the above info.

Thank you, and enjoy this weird weather!

Hey, sorry about the delay - the forum doesn't let me know when there's a new post - at least not reliably.
                      What model and year E30?
