BMW Reverse RDS with integrated Bluetooth and Song title displayed

    Hello BMW enthusiasts!

I'm excited to share my latest project with you: the "modern" BMW Reverse RDS. This upgrade transforms your classic BMW radio by adding modern Bluetooth functionality without compromising its original charm. Here’s what it offers:

    Key Features:
    • Seamless Bluetooth Integration: Switch to Bluetooth mode by pressing the "AM" button when already in AM mode. This will enable Bluetooth connectivity.
    • Song Title and Artist Display: In Bluetooth mode, the radio display shows the current song title and artist.
    • Radio Button Control: Control your smartphone directly through the radio buttons, keeping your hands safely on the wheel.
    • Easy Return to Radio Mode: Press the "FM" button or the "AM" button again to exit Bluetooth mode and return to regular radio operation.
    • Settings Menu: While in Bluetooth mode, press "1" to enter the settings menu. Navigate through the options with the arrow buttons:
      • Change the Bluetooth device name.
      • Adjust the scrolling speed of the text.
      • Switch between scrolling text and popping words display.
      • Update the software easily via Wi-Fi using your phone's hotspot.
    Installation and Updates:

The installation of my custom-designed circuit board is straightforward and requires no additional modifications to your vehicle. All the original functions of your radio remain intact.

Software updates are a breeze with Wi-Fi, ensuring your BMW Reverse RDS stays up-to-date with the latest features and improvements.

Give your BMW radio a modern touch while preserving its classic look and feel. The BMW Reverse RDS offers the best of both worlds: vintage aesthetics with contemporary technology.

Experience your favorite music in a whole new way – stylish, intuitive, and safe. Order now and future-proof your BMW radio!

Feel free to ask any questions or share your thoughts. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback! And of course I am ready for new ideas!

I just started my business some weeks ago, but the radio itself is already developed for more than 3 years and my radios are already in use for over a year. The circuit board and the software is developed by me and there is no ready to go china circuit board installed like in many other bluetooth builds.

If you are interested just contact me! (keno@bmwradios.de)
The price for the upgrade is 150 Euro + shipping and a complete radio costs 300 Euro + shipping at the moment.

I also have a website (bmwradios.de) but I'm still working on the page.

    Best wishes,
    Keno :)

Does this keep an active wifi connection(ie: if I keep my hotspot up or chose to use home wifi), and if so does it detect an update when parked, or do I have to update it manually? If it detects an update will it hold on the update screen until it is updated, or remind me on startup? Also, would love to see install pictures/guts. Looks really good and oem+, fantastic job.

No, it only connects to wifi when choosing the update function, but I'll send a mail when a new update is out! The wifi ssid and password is predefined and can be choosen with the order. In one of the next updates, there will be the possibility to change the ssid and the password within the settings.

There are some interferences with the bluetooth connection when using wifi at the same time, thats why this isn't integrated at the moment. But the idea to connect to the wifi at the start to check for an update is good. I'll put it on my list for future updates! Thank you for the idea!

I have the older reverse rds with my bluetooth build currently installed in a '96 micra:
