got pictures of the motor? Is it an E34 motor or E36?

Since he's mentioned e34 m50 oil pan and pickup is needed, engine is probably out of an e36.

The harnesses are different, the e36 is ideal for the swap though. As far as the engine goes there is no difference (besides mounts and stuff like that) I'm not going to test compression or do a leakdown on a motor that you would reseal/ rebuild anyway. If someone is considering putting a 180K motor in a car without doing anything to it while its out you don't need to be swapping a motor in the first place.
