That's my thing, I'm using an e36 rack which is spaced out and I'm thinking it's sitting higher than it should. We made the mounts with the e36 rack in place. I haven't looked inside with the hood closed, but with 4 guys at the shop, we bet 3:1 that the hood would hit the intake manifold, so it must be ridiculously close.

I took a picture with the hood off (from the front of the car) and it looks like the manifold is poking out.

Otis, can you take a picture of the hood clearance? I want to see how it compares to my mounts as I personally think my motor sits too high.

How much clearance do you have between the pan and rack? If your hood closes without rubbing it's fine.
