this was the deck that came in my car when i bought it. right before i had my accident it started fucking up on me, like the face would start to close and stop then go again. it still worked fine though, but i took it out to repair it then...bam! i was in the hospital! so it has been sitting in my closet for almost 2 years. in the mean time i talked to luke about having him fix it and he suggested that i do it myself, but i didn't have time to get to it and took it to a local shop to get it fixed and told him no rush. well a month later i got a call from the shop to come pick it up because they were going out of business...WTF. so the guy did not charge me because he did not fix it, but he diagnosed it as the ribbon wire like luke had suggested. so now i am going to fix it myself again and i ran accross a good deal on an Alpine all digital deck and bought that insted.
All it needs to be perfict is a ribbon wire that can be purchased from kenwood for $22.00 shipped. installing it is easy as hell too.
it will come with a new ipod adapter/cord that connects with the changer port, remote, deck, kenwood specific XM module for the deck and what ever cables that it needs to work with the deck, plus the magnetic ant. for the XM (i have not pulled it from the car so it is not in the pics), & print out of the owners man from the kenwood site.
i would like to get $100 plus shipping for the lot. the deck is a KDC-MP922 BTW since the pic is a little blurry
here is the pics:

why this deck is good for E-30s using stock speaker locations in the front
i can't find any reviews any more though, it has an animated screen too if you like a little show on your deck face while you drive. who cares about that though, right?
pics of the kenwood specific XM stuff. it says sirus on the deck, but i had XM at the time and i guess you could use whatever one you wanted to pulg in. so i justs added another XM to my account. no issues with it BTW.

everything including the cables

deck interface

actual XM module
to replace the ribon wire you need to remove the face rear cover, the face itself the side covers and i think that is it. (sorry it has been a while since i took it appart to see how hard it was to get at. it is really self explainatoryonce you see it. it is just screws and snap together covers and clips until you get to the ribbon wire, then you unscrew the connectors for the ribbon wire at the face and at the deck, screw on the new one and put it back together in reverse order. instal it in your car and marvel at your electronics repair abilities, watch the cartoons on the screen (it is something wierd like dolphins or the ocean???), and see how good it looks in your dash with the face all tucked up inside when it is off (what i like best about it)
