Alcantara is the name of a type of man made suede. If you compare Alcantara to other suedes you'll see the difference.

What I use is real Alcantara.

If it doesn't have the Alcantara logo on the back it's not Alcantara and should not be passed off as being Alcantara when it's not.

clyde, can you do custome sizes? I have an e36 ebrake boot thats shorter than the e30 in length and want a brake boot that would compensate the difference

                      Clyne,
Not exactly true, just wanted to give you a FYI. Alcantara Cover has a knit backing and ALCANTARA is printed on the back. Alcantara panel has no backing and has no name on it. If you ever sell panel by the yard let them know they do not print the name on the back of the cloth, plus when you are making boots you can not always get the name printed in the section are you using. Alcantara has a better hand than any of the other synthetic suedes on the market.

Yes I was aware of the non backed not having as I asked my supplier and it's true too the one with backing the logo is fairly spaced out so the chance of getting a logo on a small piece of material is rare.

Some people messaged me wanting proof I actually do use real Alcantara and not just saying it is when it isn't

A lot of people in different forums keep providing misinformation stating that Alcantara is just another word for faux suede when it's really a brand of faux suede.

I use some other lines of faux suede and in person the difference between them is noticeable.

I know a number of people use the word Alcantara loosely for synthetic suede. Just like Kleenex and tissue.
I totally agree with you, once you feel real ALCANTARA you know the difference straight away.
