I'd really like to know if these would fit in a cabrio, too...

I assume it would fit E36 Sports Package seats as well? I like those better than vaders in terms of comfort, support and spirited driving.

in the photo, i see the nuts on the studs for the front hold down, but what did you do for mounting hardware at the back of your rails? it's difficult to see in the photo, but i don't recognize the head on that fastener. also, in the photo with the loose parts, there is a small rectangular piece of metal with a hole in the middle. how is that used? how did you fasten the e36 seat bolts to the bottom of your rail? are the heads welded from underneath?

                  1. Where the bolts/studs from the original e30 mounting points go. You can see these holes are bigger and untaped so you have a few mm to play with.

                  2. 10m 1.5 pitch holes where you screw bolts in from under the plates for the e36 seats to mount to. You can see in the picture on the first page that i have 4 bolts sticking up through the plates.

                  3. Aluminum distribution plate used UNDER the car. The seat belt bar needs to be chopped and welded about 6.25 inches. The bar normally secures by a hole in your floor, that old hole gets plugged and you will drill a new hole. These meet the bolt from UNDER your car. Thats why i chose to have them made in ALU to avoid rust issues.

I just found your info about installing the vader seats in an E30. I've got two E30's both used as daily drivers. The drivers seat in the iX literally fell apart. I've had real troubles finding replacments, but I did find a pair of regular E36 seats that I've purchased. It looks like your brackets would work for them as well as the vader seats. What do you think? If so, and you've still got a set left for sale, I'd be interested. Thks, J.S.

I might consider getting these if i could find some vaders for a reasonable price.

I looked under the car to see about putting the distribution plate in and I have solid fuel lines right there. How did you drill the hole for the new location?

How much did you chop the bar? You can always bend the tab left or right by wedging a screwdriver in the hole and prying.
