        Update: I have been Advised that the springs on the suspension are Dinan Lowering Springs w/ Koni shocks

                    Yep, in this case. Steel control arms were stock on '88 M3's and I think they were on all of the M3's produced up until 12/88 (some of which would have been sold as '89's, of course).

                    That is a good deal on the suspension, especially considering the cost you have there for the whole setup with nice springs and shocks is less than what the strut housings and wheel bearings would cost new at the dealer, not to mention the knuckles, brakes, etc.
