i did, but i never drove it without the chip so i cant vouch for the gains but the car ran great.

I've got an ecu out of my 87 is if you need it for the cheap. lowball me if you have the wrong ecu. mine came with a 153 stock but I went to 173 cuz I ordered the 173 chip. PM if you need it.
