With these installed on the license plate holes is that enough support for it to hold the bracket and lights?

of course thats all that its held by on my car and it is very sturdy.

I know there was a guy trying to make some for the m3 and they were using the mounting holes from the bumper.

Yes, but it might not clear the plate and I would need to drill a different set of holes.

I haven't wired them up yet, I just mounted them to see how they look.
