    BMW 1989 M3 S14 and transmission 113xxx miles

I just picked up an S50B32 which will be going into my M3 over the winter, so I thought I'd go ahead and put the S14 up for sale. Its sitting right around 113k miles.

The motor runs great, I haven't had a problem with it - very good power IMO for an engine of its age.

I had a compression test done today and got the following results:

    1- 205
    2- 189
    3- 205
    4- 205

Price, as in the title is $4000 shipped anywhere in the 48 states. This includes the engine from air intake to headers, wiring harness, pretty much everything necessary to swap it, plus transmission. ECU and all , can be picked up at German Motor Werks 101 Oxford Street spindale NC 28160 for less

Best way to contact me is via my Cell phone 828 980 3625

Man, that is a hell of a deal. I would love to swap this into a 318is! Best of luck with the sale.

Good price. I'd like to buy it, but if I spend any more of my money on cars this year, my girlfriend might castrate me.

Okay, okay. Here's the score. If the OP still has the engine and tranny when I sell my Z, then I'll probably buy it.

Beware of seller GMW in Springdale NC. He sold me an S52 engine he claimed to have been good running condition with less than 60k miles. We removed the head to find it was severely warped. The head bolts were also so loose we removed with them a 1\4 inch ratchet.

Cylinder 1 spark plug was stripped and re tapped and installed saw 1/2 higher than the other cylinders.

All the cooling passages were rusted shut

Cylinder 1 has a chunk of the piston missing from what looked to be detonation

Cylinder 3 has severe deep rust pits in the cylinder walls. There's no chance this motor ran without smoking and sealing properly.

I paid $2500 for the motor in cash and now he isn't responding to my texts or calls but as soon as I call from another telephone number he answers right away.
His solution is he wants to give me a New head and on piston so i can rebuild the motor. Does anyone else think this is absurd? I'm trying to run a business and install a claimed "good" motor for my customer.

                        Coolant passage

cylinder 1 spark plug depth and repair

                        compared to cylinder 2

                        Damaged piston

extremely pitted and rusted cylinder 3

^^^^ yikes. This might explain why the s14 is so cheap...

Whatever the story is with that s52, that sucks. At $4000 for the s14, he's about 50% cheaper than you can find them anywhere else.

Edit: didn't realize this thread was so old
