no, but you can use the ring and pinion from an e34 or e36 rear diff as i understand. the e28 diff is the same except for the rear cover plate and the axle shafts. that would be more direct replacement. changing the ring and pinion is not recommended for the typical shade tree mechanic. it is somewhat difficult to set up properly.sigpic
