If you dont mind bumpstops, you can tuck tire with out short shocks. GC camber plates will really help though.

Note: I say the above so this setup will be available for me if i stumble upon tons of cash

On the strut housings? That's just dirt/grime.

As far as I know all the mounting points are the same, the early models just had narrower tubes.

Should work fine from what I understand, but I'd double check.

yes this will bolt right up to your 84' chassis.
