    Trunk Saver Strut Bar

Well when I make parts for my subaru I make jigs to replicate them and sell them. So I'm going to do the same for the E30. I just got the plates for the rear strut bar in the other day.

The bar will have 2 bends in it that places the majority of the bar right up near the rear bulkhead. So you can still retain trunk space. Plates are laser cut mild steel I drew up on cad, the bar section will be made from 1" chromoly tubing I have here.

Will bend up the bar today most likely and have some complete unit pictures. For now here are some pics of the laser cut mounting plates.

Just wanted to see if there was any interest. Final product will most likely be powdercoated in a Satin Black color that I get most of my parts done in.

    Thanks
    Kelly

I'll know once i put some tube in the tube bender and bend it out and see how much tubing is used. I know metal prices have gone up since i bought my last sticks of chromoly.

Price will come out to about $105 powdercoated and shipped anywhere in the lower 48.

I got the first unit bar all bent up ion the tube bender and welded up. Going to drop it off to the powdercoaters and have him throw it in when he does his next batch of black.

Also for those wondering about the welding construction part of it, by day I weld aircraft exhaust systems and in the evening/weekends I build lots of big high hp turbo setups and other performance parts. Everything I do is tig welded.

Im not sure what your referring to but this is just the first little part I'm tackling on the car, and also quite easy to mock up and build. Will probably tackle mostly suspension stuff first. Tubular chassis stuff, adjustable pillowball control arms, etc.... Then move on to the engine stuff....manifolds/downpipes/etc.... Havent found anything that really peaked my interest in the power section as of yet offered for these cars.
