Will this work in my 86 e?

It's not ideal cluster for an 86 e, tach will need to be replaced and also you would need to swap the coding plug (i am pretty sure your 86 has a plug in the front/right just like this cluster).

my 86e (prod date 11/85) has a motometer i cluster in it, works fine reads accurately.

On that note i wish i had the money for this one right now as its mileage is closer to the my cars mileage.

If the tach will read right I don't mind that the redline won't match up. Mine is 5/86. The odometer on mine doesn't work and thats why I want a new one.

The plugs arnt the same, you have to take the gage out and put it in yours for it to work, plus dont forget the chip thats at the bottom, if you dont put that in then it wont work. the gages all match up. but they need to be in the eta box
