    feeler: full houdstooth interior

I recently came across a full houstooth interior (spit between two cars in two junk yards) and was curious what anyone thought the parts were worth and if they're worth picking up, or if anyone would like me to grab them something. I know they're a bit rare and when I had my e30s I would have killed for this stuff.

    the list includes:

2 front passenger comfort seats, both in very good condition (you can recover a driver seat with passenger seat material to make a set)

2 rear (non armrest) seats - one has a 1cm x 1 cm hole on bottom on passenger side... probably from a pen in someone's pocket - very good shape aside from that

4 head rests (i have hardware to add head rests to rear seats)

2 rear door cards from coupe

all door cards from 4 door - possibly one or two nicks in the front vinyl bits

I already have two head rests and the coupe door cards, and will be going back to the yards this Sunday, so I'm curious if they're worth picking up.

Please let me know if you
    a) can think of a good price, I'm not looking to make a killing, I'm more excited about someone having this stuff than making a "boat load of cash"
    or
    b) have any interest in said items.

I would love the set but they are too far away!! Shipping to TN would be a killer. Houndstooth is what I really want in my car.

You can remove the fabric from seats and put it on other ones. I did it with the seat bottom from my old leather seats b/c the foam was destroyed pulling it from a junk yard, so I pulled the leather off and put it on the seat bottom i already had. It only took 45 minutes to do the whole thing.

1mz: I only have two headrests and the coupe rear door cards, I'm only going to go get the rest of the stuff if people tell me they want it.

-I guess I should add that the junk yards are a hour and a half away from my house and they don't have anything for my current car (e46), so I would only be going out there to pick this stuff up. That means I have to cover my gas, make free time, and find a buyer to cover those costs... so if anyone wants to say if its worth doing please let me know.

If you could ship the foam bottom of at least one of the front seats with the fabric from the rest of the fronts along with the cards and back seats, I would be for sure interested. You let me know what your time and gas is worth and what the yard would charge for the parts and I can see if I can do it. Let me know as I have some seats in serious need of recovering. The drivers seat in mine has a ripped cover on the lower cushion and I can't remember if the cushion itself has damage as well. I would need the 4dr cards as well. Let me know.

its only about $18 in gas, I can try calling the place tomorrow to get a quote for the full 4 door interior. Shipping would probably be about 50-60 (I can get a hell of a deal through work)

so if 80 to cover expenses, plus the cost from the junk yard (hopefully 100 or less)... maybe in the ball-park of 200 shipped.

I won't be able to get to the yard until next tuesday or thursday though, but if anyone has real interest and is willing to work with that price, let me know.

Let me know on the price. I would need shipping to 37042. Would love the complete set. Would love to have the headrests and motors you have also. Next week is good for me. Not in a big hurry. Just let me know. Thanks.

artoo93: would you want the fabric for the two front seats, fabric for the rear (back part) and the covered bottom part as well 4 head rests, the e38 electric headrest motors and brackets to add headrests to the rear seat, and the 4 door door cards? would you need the map pockets or door pulls?

also: here are some shots of the stuff I already have. The guys on the left are perfect (not mint and kinda okay... they're awesome) on the right: the arm rest has a tear but the upper piece is perfect and you can switch out the bottom part with any other lower one from a coupe. The headrest seems to be a bit faded at the center near the top, but it could just be a dust/pollen build up. To either even, its very faint.

                  now the photos:

Yes, I would need all of the above to recover and update my current seats. If I can get the map pockets and door pulls that would be great. If not, I will find some somewhere. I may need the bottom driver seat cushion. I am out of town this week but I can get hold of the guy whose house my car is at and have him check on it.

Well, I have good news and bad news... I drove to the yard yesterday after they quoted me 150 for everything (front seats, rear seat and door cards) but when i got there they told me $120 for the door cards plus $40 for the rear seat plus $50 for the front seats.... *sigh* the rear seat had a decent number of stains on the back, as well as two small holes on the bottom, so i figured no one would want that, the driver seat is covered in rips (and duct tape :( ) and the front passenger seat is 100% frozen in place. Another person on here (phsyer_0ptix) or however payam spells it, and I couldn't get the damn thing to move an inch back or forth, meaning that we couldn't unbolt it to get to all the fabric to pull it off.

And so, the only things I was able to grab were the door cards and head rests. Sorry guys :(

If anyone wants the 4-door door cards, please let me know. They're in amazingly great cosmetic condition, but the driver door piece is cracked on the back (from someone trying to remove it without knowing how to go around the clips) but this could either be repaired with fiberglass, attatched to the car and ignored (the clips will hold it in place without issue) or possibly the fabric/vinyl could be put onto another backing.

I also have the 4 headrests. I'll post pictures up tonight when i get back from class.

there may or may not be a rear seat availability developing in the near future, but this is entirely based on interest. If we make it to that other yard and it's worth his time.
