WTB: license plate area around license plate lights

i just picked up a car and the only bad spots of real concern are the holes the license plate lights are housed in. i would at least like an inch around the surrounding area but more on the top as i'd like the area that wraps up & over the trunk sill. needs to be decent and rust free, thanks.

pic of what i'm talking about since part of it is hard to describe. the black line is what i would want on the upper portion. you would need to cut it out basically where the rubber seal sits so it'll hide a majority of the work:

I'd rather bag your mom than my car :D

I had a severely rusted out area there and rear lower valance. I bought the whole panel from BMW back when it was affordable and got a body shop to cut and weld in the new panel. I believe the panels are still available.

good deal as it isn't an immediate rush since it's warm out. let me know when you can get it to me, thanks.

luckily i'll be able to take care of the work myself. i couldn't imagine what a body shop would try to charge me for something i could probably do better LOL. maybe i'll give bmw a call tomorrow and see how much this would run me. the only part that sucks about doing it that way is blending the paint around the corners. going the route i want, the work will be hidden behind the license plate and under the trunk lid where you'd never see it if it's a little off.

replacement is better then repair. Unless you are very experience bodyperson; the rust will show up again. only a matter of time. I had mine done 7 years ago and it never returned driving daily in Canadian winters.
I believe the labor is about the same to repair as it is to replace. Since it is just cut and weld. a panel just sold here on rev for 150.00 shipped oem.

find out what a panel US side costs and let me know.

i can do it and you won't even know it's been done. there will be no rust returning.

a mod can move this to where is should be at will. sorry for the wrong section posting.
