I realize the dash is less in demand because of the seatbelt sign. I thought it would be cool to take it off and substitute it for pods of oil and temp gauges - but I am not going the FI route. It would definitely work though...

Dash from an airbag car by chance? Can you remove the seatbelt warning light or will it leave a big, gaping hole?

You can remove the seatbelt light, but it does leave a hole the size of a quarter or a little smaller. I think it can be made into a space to fabricate oil pressure, and temp pods for FI cars. If you live close by, you can come look at it.

As far as it being an airbag car, I am not sure. But it does still have the vin on it, and I think there is a guy on here that can check options on our cars through vins.

I got it.. trying not to scratch the paint and on tower is loose for some reason..Ideas?

I know of a company called Lamin-X that makes vinyls that protect the gutters and paint when installing roof racks. I recommend getting something like that. http://www.lamin-x.com/Default.asp

Also, if one tower is fitting loose on the gutter, that probably means that when you are spinning the tightining mechanism (the circular knob), the fitting behind the tower is probably spinning with it (it is square I think). To get the knob to tighten on the gutter, just put your finger on the square fitting behind the tower (the one that faces the middle of your roof) to inhibit it from turning. Once it locks, you can continue turning the knob and it should tighten further. Hopefully that does it - if that's the case. PM me if there is anything else.
