Feeler: Extremely rare part in this thread

Alright, I am thinking of throwing up my very rare Alpina extended fuel tank (10 gallons) from my E30 for sale.

I dont really use it, and I would like to see it go to an enthusiast, or someone who likes to have a few rare parts on hand to brag about.

I am unsure of what its worth, as searches on the internet turned up very few results. I am willing to let it go, but I am not going to pass this off to a lowballer or tire kicker.

The install is easy, but it will require cutting 4 holes into your E30. This fits into all E30's, apart from M3 and convertibles. This is used in addition to your stock tank, and does not replace it, or allow you to remove it.

Two holes will need to be cut into the rear seat back panel near the ski pass thru hole. Another hole will need to be cut in the top of your passenger fender well to allow access into the trunk from the fill area. And a final hole will need to be drilled in the floor of the trunk to allow the main fill line of the tank access to the tube that runs to the stock tank. It also needs two holes drilled to bolt the tank to the trunk of the car to avoid movement.

Apart from the tank itself, the only other piece needed is the modified fuel tube, which is included, amd is a direct replacement of your stock pipe. The install is easy, and I will offer detailed instructions to the buyer if requested.

It cost me around 65 dollars to fill up, but I could drive around almost all month without another refill. Pretty convenient for someone who does a lot of highway driving, or is too lazy to fill up often.

I will ship this to wherever you want it to go, but shipping will not be cheap, as you can already figure out. I am located in the San Diego/Mira Mesa area, and I am available everyday after 5 30 pm.

Please PM me with any inquiries. Again, no lowballers. I would like to get in the 400 dollar range for the tank.

Pics (the slight surface rust has been removed, and the tank can be painted black if the buyer wants.)

    Modified fuel tube

More pics will be posted tomorrow or the next day.

    PM me with your offers.

From my knowledge I've never scene Aluminum rust like that so, I would guess Steel.

GLWS, that's pretty freaking awesome. Great for someone who's ready to run away from the cops!!!

True, maybe it was corrosion/dirt and being old.

it should be aluminum. these are rare as heck here but come up every month or so on euro egay. there is one now on usa ebay. the price is too high, however. it should fit a vert and an m3 without any problem. i have an example of all four e30 body styles and there is really no difference in either car in that area. in the case of the vert, you will have no trunk left over for storage.

The tank is filled exactly the same way you fill your E30 right now.

After the stock tank is filled, it simply fills the extended tank before shutting off the pump. No extra work is required.

It is aluminum, and the slight surface rust was very minimal, and is now removed. Nice and shiny silver is all thats left.

I will get dimensions, but as stated, it was designed for the E30, so it fits without a single problem.

I cannot figure out where it came from. If they only came on Alpina cars then I guess I was lucky enough to get my hands on it. I got the tank when I bought my previous E30, and I cant get in contact with the PO to figure anything out.
