    Alpine CDA-9884 Head Unit

Great shape. Was installed in my car for approximately 18 months before I installed a more period correct looking head unit. Great functionality w/ an iPod, and lots of Alpine accessories available to expand its usefulness (bluetooth, XM or Sirius, HD radio, aux in, etc).

Includes head unit, mounting sleeve, and bezel. Bezel is slightly cracked on the bottom, but you can't really see it when installed (pictures show how hard it is to see).

    $80 shipped

    From Crutchfield:

    ______________

Alpine packs the CDA-9884 CD receiver with an impressive internal amplifier that delivers your music with impact and depth. You'll also appreciate the easy-to-read display, the simple controls, and the number of options for system expansion.

    Tone to the max
Alpine's Bass Engine® feature lets you adjust the centerpoints of your treble and bass controls so you can really shape the tone. You'll also find a built-in high-pass filter that trims the bass going to your full-range speakers, and bass controls that shape the bass from your subwoofer system.

The CDA-9884 offers three sets of preamp outputs for building an amplified system. And with the combination of Alpine's PXA-H100 IMPRINT sound tuning adapter and the KTX-H100 tuning kit you'll turn your vehicle into the perfect listening space — they measure your car's acoustics and adjust the stereo's settings automatically to create a perfect audio environment.

    Adding to your system
Alpine includes their KCE-422i iPod® cable, so you get full-speed control of your iPod without having to buy an adapter. You can add a dedicated satellite radio tuner, or Alpine's KCA-SC100 controller for select SIRIUS plug-and-play radios. Or, you can connect a different option, like a Bluetooth® adapter, an HD Radio™ tuner, or an auxiliary input adapter.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Hands-on Research" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

So is the Ipod input on the Back of the unit? is it a USB port? Is it easy to navigate between playlists/folders?

I have the 9886 and love it. I much prefer using the head unit to navigate through the songs than using the actual ipod itself, especially when driving. It's very easy to go through even a very long list of songs because each of the #'s 1-6 puts the menu in a certain % into the playlist, for example pressing #6 will put you near the end of the list, #1 at the top, and the rest of the #'s somewhere in the middle then you just navigate with the scrollwheel.

                  Still available...

The equivalent unit from Alpine new (CDA-105) is $210 from Crutchfield, and honestly doesn't do a damn thing different (I'd know, I've got it in my Porsche).
