    3.73 LSD, $225 (Seattle)

    -UPDATE: BOTH SOLD!-

I've got a 3.73 LSD pulled from a 1987 325i with 189k on the clock. Spins smoothly, no signs of leakage. Haven't cracked the case to check fluid yet, but the car was an auto and was babied so I don't expect any nastiness in there.

I've also got a gauge cluster from the same car, good condition, asking $40. This stuff is on Seattle craigslist as well.

No interest at all? I'm willing to ship, or will meet anywhere along the I-5 corridor from Olympia up to Canada.

The LSD should work in your car, but will give you (slightly) higher gearing. With an early 318i you should have a 3.91 diff, and the LSD would up you to a 3.73 (not a huge difference, but a little taller gears). You can check to see if your car has an LSD by jacking up the rear end and (parking brake off, out of gear) spinning one of the rear wheels. If the other wheel spins the same direction, LSD! If it spins in the opposite direction, no LSD. A limited-slip will also have a white "S" painted on the bottom of the case.

As for the gauge cluster, it should be usable in your 318, but you will have to swap the coding plug on the back of the cluster to get the tach to read right.
