    Feeler: 6061 aluminum spacers

Last night I machined 1/2" spacers 1"diameter with 3/8" drilled hole for my M50 swap (to cover the unthreaded portion of the motor mount). Assuming everyone doing these swaps are using some home depot spacers stacked on top of each other, why not offer solid spacers. I can machine them to any size spacer you'd like, I do it all by hand on a lathe, it's not done by CNC. If you have any questions/suggestions, again, post it in this thread. I do put a good amount of time into these making them to perfect spec. I will put up some pics, thanks.

From here down is an edit to what will be sold.

Any questions please ask in this thread in case there are other who have the same question.

Final dimensions are 1/2" tall or 3/4" tall (any bigger PM me please). 1 1/4" diameter and a 3/8" hole for the motor mount stud.

    Pricing is as follows:
    1 set 1/2" $15 shipped
    2 sets 1/2" $25 shipped
3+ sets add $10 per set

    1 set 3/4" $20 shipped
    2 sets 3/4" $35 shipped
    3 + sets add $15 per set.

    Mounted.

I have improved the way of making them, taking more time to machine them to perfect spec with a digital vernier caliper. Along with very lightly sanding the edges to keep them from getting screwed up in any way and to avoid any burrs possible. I made these 2 sets for BADCLOWN 1 set of 3/4" spacers and 1 set 1/2" spacers, these are 1" in diameter.

Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

So, for raising the motor? Can you make motor mount spacers for us m20 guys at an appropriate height?

You mean to raise the motor? That is what mine are going to be used for, but typically everyone uses them to cover the unthreaded portion on the e28 motor mount.

Yes they can be used to raise the motor, I can make spacers that you need but you'll have to get me all the dimensions. I will be ordering 1 1/4" round stock so sizes can't be over that in diameter.

Interesting, never heard of this before. On my last swap never shimmed the motor up.
Is this something that has to be done?

Using the e36 mount arms/e28 green motor mounts there is a half inch of unthreaded portion on the top stud. you need 1/2" spacer to cover that unthreaded portion in order to thread on the nut. You can also use these to put under your motor mount arms ( as seen in my pic above somewhere ) to space UP your motor to keep the low e34 pan up a little. You do not have to space up your motor, thats optional but in 24v swaps you have to have 1/2" worth of spacers on top of the motor mount to properly mount it.

I used the E28 M5 motor mounts. I'm assuming that is why I didn't need these?

I just wanted to clarify if these are for people using stock e28 mounts.

                        Yes, I don't know about e28 M5 mounts.
