the guy who said he wanted it might have flaked (no call back). here is more pictures too. the cam isn't horrible, i don't have a micrometer for exact measurements, out of shape, maybe 1/32 to 1/64'th, maybe?at the high point. when i got it the guy said the rocker that was on the lobe (the contact point) fell off. so it doesn't have 1 of the rockers. the springs i have, you'll still want new ones 23+ years old($20 on ebay). the valve look good needs cleaned.
the afm is from the same 323i the head came off off.
i looked into having the cam reground, it was cheaper than a new one, i dont remember the quotes, but i do remember the regrind was a hell of a lot cheaper.
all the innards are in numbered bags.

By not posting a price on this 731 head you are just killing your chances of getting a good sale. I have sold a few of these and I always get at least $400 + shipping, but they were nice heads with good cams. One that I sold that was fresh from the machine shop went for a little over $800.

You might want to mention that installing the larger valves and seats from the 885 head is a simple upgrade any Bozo at a machine shop can do. And port matching the intakes to match the M20B25 intake is easy, less than an hour with a simple die grinder.

Just out of curiosity, I often hear that it's super easy to get 885 valves fitted to the 731 head. But doesn't the 731 head have the same valves as the eta 200 head, meaning it would be just as feasible to fit the 885 valves into the 200 head?

its all about the cam, 731 cam is the "hottest" cam you can get for the m20, this cam needs to be reground. i was going to do that, and put it in my e car, i travell alot and decided to much work, i have 3 e30 and a couple other cars, next e30 that goes out im putting a m30 in it. the stroker would be badass though, my time is limited to what projects i can do, its been in my garage for years now and i havnt done anything with it yet, so...time to go
