FS in RI: Quaife Differential Carrier

    Quaife Differential Carrier – F-2N2-02 01/02

    Was $900, now $600!!! SOLD!

Part was used in a racing E30 for one year before being pulled (only pulled to install a clutch diff). In like-new, excellent condition.

This item should fit into any medium case for E30, Z3 and some E36 cars, among others, basically any gear ratio that is made for a medium case diff.

Shipping weight will be about 25 pounds from 02910.

    Hi-res photos available via e-mail.

    Thanks for looking!

    Them's some tiny pictars.

How is this different from the Z3 torsens (aside from the manufacturer)?

Can this be run in a street car? Does it have a different lock-up percentage versus the stock LSD unit?

Possibly interested depending on the advantages that this has over the stock LSD unit.

Here are a few answers from the driver...

"The factory LSD unit is a max 25% lock up, where the Quaife is a variable
lock up from almost complete to almost 0%.

They are very similar to the Torsens, as far as information provided. I have never driven a Torsens, so I cant say for sure. The Quaife was nice, especially coming out of corners you could feel it go from semi open to lock as you hit the throttle. For the drifting that I do, I wanted more lock and that's why I went to a four clutch ramped diff."

Here's a link too, that answers a few questions: http://store.vacmotorsports.com/quai...rce=googlebase

Makes sense that you would want to run a clutch pack diff for drifting.

Did you do the rebuild on the clutch diff?

Interesting and important question- what is the ratio (as in, is it 3.25, or 3.73, or ?.??)

The diff carrier doesn't determine the ratio IIRC. That is a function of the input gear and crown gear.

I have only little knowledge of this, but I believe BimmerDread is correct.

                          YEAR-END CLEARANCE!!!

You got holiday money, put it to good use.

                          Was $900, now $600!!!

Treat your rear-end right next year with a 'new' Quaife!

Drastically reduced price. Need to make room for new parts car coming in ('90 sedan, red).

Add five pounds or so for shipping in a wooden crate. Otherwise, a well-padded cardboard box will be provided.

                          Cheers
