RPM signal converter for M3 cluster with 6 cyl swap $120 OBO

Want to get an M3 cluster to use the 8k tach with your DOHC swap? You'll need one of these. Digitally converts the signal to a new frequency to fool the M3 cluster into thinking it's a 4-banger. Without it, your revs will always read too high.

Would also be willing to provide guidance/help installing it. Not hard but helps if you know which wires you need to tap into (DME and car side).

Just the one in my car :( There are usually a couple for sale if you look around (here, s14.net, ebay [although that place is useless now])

Hey man, just so you know, there is a great spot to catch the tach signal right under the IP, immediately left of the steering column. It is the only black wire in that harness.

I can take one tonight if you'd like. It's just a box with 4 screw terminals (+, ground, rpm in, rpm out).

It's necessary for any 6 cyl engine that you plan to use with the E30 M3 cluster.

Dunno, if you have an M5 and M3 cluster kicking around, you can try and report back to the tech forum. This is a FS thread.

thanks for the valuable input. if the answer to my question turns out to be a "no", then I would have purchased your convertor.
