Hey everybody. I've got a complete cylinder head from a '97 or '98 Euro E36 M3 (I can verify the year tomorrow..). The engine was hurt at the track and either cylinder 3 or 4 lost it's piston. The combustion chamber is pretty ugly on that cylinder, but I've seen worse damage repaired. The valves on that cylinder are toast, of course. All the other valves are fine. All of the valves, springs, and retainers are fine as well. One of the buckets (shim on solid lifter engine) is hurt-- cocked in it's bore from the overrev (or whatever happened, I'm not playing the blame game in case the former owner reads this, ha). The cams are fine except from where the one bucket tried to escape the valve train and nicked the side of the cam lobe. That was the intake cam. The damage wouldn't exempt these cams from being usable as they are, but they would be perfect regrind candidates. The cam bearings are in beautiful shape.
Basically I've got everything from the valves up to the valve cover, depending on what somebody needs-- including the dual VANOS unit and solenoids. I'd like $350 shipped for everything, obo, or I'll sell individual parts (like the cams, VANOS, or valve covers) as needed.
I also have the water pump, thermostat housing, thermostat, and a ton of other odds and ends like pulleys and engine brackets around. Those parts are quite expensive new, and these are in great condition. The water pump is like new and has no play what-so-ever unlike the same style on my 50k S54.. I'd sell those parts cheap as well. I need all of this stuff gone..
