    This is an e30 forum....

    The trans would bolt up but you would need to make the rest yourself for e36, OP has a drop in kit here for the e30.

      Yes. I forget what exactly needs to be done to get it in to an E36, but it's been done many times.

            The difference would be the trans mount bracket. Otherwise, it's the same. (Might need a different CSB on the driveshaft if it's been changed.)

            Just to correct an earlier statement of mine: The 328 and the M3 auto driveshafts are NOT the same. You need the M3 driveshaft. It's longer.

                '95s had 6-bolts. Anything else should be 4-bolt.

                The M3 auto shaft is longer. Check RealOEM for confirmation if you don't believe me. I assumed (like many others) that since the manual was the same that the auto would be too, but it isn't.
