I guarantee you haven't pulled the oil pan and noticed the rod cap in it. Just because you took the head off and said the internals were fine doesn't mean the rod isn't there. You need to find out whats really happening and post some pics

Comabt vet does not mean "hand to hand" combat? But what would you expect from someone trying to scam someone by selling broken stuff.
But honestly, this is America, and if you are a vet, you fought to ensure his freedom to try to scam someone and the buyer's right to be stupid enough to fall for it.
All I know is if someone sold me a known blown motor and did't give me every penny (and maybe more) back immediately, I would execise my freedom to fly to his house and take it back myself.

1.No one was justifying the damage, "SOURCED BLOCK" gave that away. "HEAD AND INTERNALS" MEANING THE COMPONENTS OF THE HEAD NOT THE BLOCK
2.At 35yrs and 17 of those in aviation and 8 of those in combat aviation I've had my share(AIR AND LAND) and some of those you have only seen in pictures.
3.classic response from an immature person who should pride and handle themselves a bit better ESPECIALLY IN carrying the duties of "MODERATOR"
