I think that panel was in fact from the '84 318i, that had a one-time-only o2 sensor replacement reminder light. IIRC, you were supposed to actually break the bulb off from inside the panel once you hit 60k miles or whatever and it lit...never to be useful again.

No the sensor is not pre-wired on any other car, in fact the bulb might not even be in that panel, as I said you were basically supposed to remove/break the bulb off its base whenever it came on the first time, and it was never to be used again. BMW wanted to make damn sure you replaced the O2 sensor at its proper interval the first time (maybe for emissions warranty purposes?) but didn't care after that :D As far as the rest of the panel it should work fine.

Got some info on that check panel. I just looked at a 83' 323i (euro, obviously) today and it had that same check panel!

So I think it is safe to say, it is EURO!
