Just FYI, you can drain some t-case fluid into a clean glass jar with a good cap and shake it. The ATF will run cleanly down the side of the jar while the Silicone VC fluid (if present) will bead up.

That is a great idea. I also put the front driveshaft into the splines and had a friend hold it while I turned the flanges as hard as I could and nothing slipped. I feel like this would make me be able to tell if the vc was completely blown.

Nope, even the brake is the same...only differences are airbag/non-airbag
