i'm sorry, i'm a noob, but what exactly do these do?
they stiffen the car up right? reduce body roll?

They help stiffen the rear of the car. Also e30s are known to rip out the rear shock mounts if your car is lowerd. Most people would install the Z3 shock plates. But this takes care of that as well. So it kills two birds with one stone I guess you could say.
I cant speak from experience on these because I dont have the room in my trunk to run one due to my air ride setup. But from what I hear through friends and forum members they work great.
